Garden Bloggers Bloom Day – April 2014

Garden Bloggers Bloom Day

Just a quick post to join in Garden Bloggers Bloom Day April 2014 (inspired by Helen Johnston)  . I’m mostly pleased with the Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) as it’s the first time it’s flowered – ever!.  I sowed the seed 3-4 years ago when we lived on the Isle of Wight.

  1. You must be pleased your hyacinth has flowered after so long. I only plant seeds that flower that year, so have no idea of the patience it must take all that waiting. What is the first pink flower?

  3. It’s not a very clear picture but it’s our Crabapple tree – the bronze leaves do eventually turn green but when the blossom is out they provide a good background to the near-cerise flowers. Stops it being too garish
